This five-day course combines Microsoft Course 20778: Analyzing and Visualizing Data with Power BI and Course 20779: Analyzing and Visualizing Data with Microsoft Excel giving the student the opportunity to earn the MCSA: BI Reporting Certification.

The MCSA: BI Reporting Certification is the first step to becoming a Data Management and Analytics Microsoft Certified Expert (MCSE). By completing this course and gaining the associated certifications you are demonstrating your expertise in analyzing data with both Power BI and Excel.

Potential students that would be interested in this course are:

SQL Server Report creators who and interested in alternate methods of presenting data
Beginning and experienced programmers who have at least 3 months of programming experience and have basic Windows skills.
IT professionals that are responsible for analyzing data with Excel
After completing this course, students are able to:

Prerequisites

It is recommended that prior to attending this course, student have:

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating system and its core functionality
Good knowledge of Excel spreadsheets, functions, and charts
Working knowledge of relational databases
Excellent knowledge of relational databases and reporting
Some basic knowledge of data warehouse schema topology (including star and snowflake schemas)
Some exposure to basic programming constructs (such as looping and branching).
An awareness of key business priorities such as revenue, profitability, and financial accounting is desirable.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications-Particularly Excel
